Kapoteswara Swamy Temple Timings - Chejarla

Sri Kapoteswara Swamy temple is located in Chejarla Village in Nekarikallu Mandal in the Guntur district in the state of Andhra Pradesh.


Kapoteswara Swamy is an incarnation of Lord Shiva.


Kapoteswara linga resembles the Kalebara of a great King Sibi Chakravarthy with the head cut off on the top of the Linga.


Two large cavities can be clearly noticed on the top of the Shiva Linga. One cavity completely absorbs the abhisheka theertham and no one knows where this water is going. One can also observe the raw flesh smell coming out from this cavity.


This temple was built during the 3rd and 4th centuries.

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti.
