Puri Ratha Yatra Important Dates 2024



Puri Ratha Yatra also known as Chariot Festival is an important festival dedicated to Lord Jagannath. It is also called Jagannath Ratha Yatra.

Every year it is celebrated on Ashada Shukla Paksha, It attracts devotees from all over the world.

This festival commemorates the yearly visit of Lord Jagannath to the famous ‘Gundicha Temple’ while passing through the ‘Mausi Maa Temple’, located near Balagandi Chaka in Puri. During Puri Rath Yatra the main deities of the temple, Lord Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra, and Lord Balabhadra are taken out in their respective chariots as a part of a huge procession.

June 22  – Snana Yatra (Snana Purnima)

July 06  – Netro Ustav( After Snana Purnima, Lord Jagannath is said to have caught a cold and fever for 15 days.)

July 07  – Ratha Yatra Starts (Famous Ratha Yatra starts today)

July 11  – Hera Panchami (Celebrated at Gundicha temple on the fifth day from the Start of Rathayatra)

July 15  – Bahuda Yatra(After 9 days Lord Jagannath will return from Gundhica Temple)

July 17  – Suna Besha (After they return, Lord Jagannath takes up along with his brother and sister.)

July 18 - Adhara Pana (Special Sweet Drink offered to Deities on the Chariot)

July 19  – Niladri Bije.

Sri Raghavendra Swami Aradhana 2024 Dates

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti. After serving the world and the lord for a lifetime, Sri Raghavendra Swami attained Jeeva Samadhi in the year 1671. It happened on the Dwitiya of Krishna Paksha of the Shravana month. The Brindavana that houses the samadhi is in the Raghavendra Mutt in Mantralayam and is visited by hundreds and thousands of devotees each year. Dhanurmasam 2024-25 Dates

Dhanurmas or Dhanur Masa is also known by the names Chapa Mas, Kodanda Mas, Karmuka Mas, etc. Dhanurmasa is also called Shoonya Masa because it is considered inauspicious to do any good things other than Godly and holy functions. In 2024  Dhanurmasam starts on  December 16 and ends on January 13, 2025. This period ends with the Makar Sankranti - the end of dakshinayana mostly occurs during the Pausha month of the Hindu Lunar calendar. More appropriately, the start of the Dhanurmas is marked by the entry of the Sun in the Dhanur Rasi this is called Dhanu Sankramana. Tirumala: March 2025 Quota Details

  The March 2025 quota of Arjita Seva tickets will be released on December 18 at 10am by TTD online which includes Arjita Sevas viz. Suprabhatam, Tomala, Archana, Astadalam. The devotees shall register for these sevas from December 18-20 and those who got the tickets shall have to pay from December 20 onwards and before the 12noon of December 22. Meanwhile, the Arjita Sevas like Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjita Brahmotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva tickets will be released at 10am on December 21 while the virtual sevas and gheir darshan slots on the same day at 3pm. TTD will release the  the Anga Pradakshinam tokens at 10am, SRIVANI tickets at 11am, Physically challenged and senior citizens at 3pm on December 23. The Rs.300 Special Entry Darshan will be released at 10am on December 24, accommodation for Tirumala and Tirupati at 3pm on the same day. Paush Month 2024-25 Dates

  Pushya Masam is the tenth month as per the lunar calendar. In this month farmers get their crop hence it is called Soubhagya Laksmi Masam. The sun would transit in the northern direction and from then onward the Uttarayana Punyakalam starts. Uttarayana starts with the most famous festival Sankranti. As per North Indian Calenders, this month starts on December 16 , 2024, and concludes on January 13, 2025. Tirumala Brahmotsavam is an annual festival at  Lord Venkateswara Temple celebrated for nine days in September and October.
