Sri Athmanathar Swamy Temple Timings – Avudaiyarkoil

 

Sri Athmanathar Swamy Temple is located in Ayudaiyarkoil Village in Pudukkottai district in the state of Tamilnadu.


Sri Athmanathar is an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Goddess Yoganayagi is the consort of Athamanathar.


Nandi and Chandikeswara are absent in the temple.


The lord is present in three forms Aruvam (invisible form), Aruuruvam (visible not definite form), and Uruvam (Visible form).


There are five lamps in the Sanctum indicating the five time scales and 27 lamps indicating the 27 stars.


This temple was built in Chola style of architecture with 7 tier Rajagopuram.


Most of the Shiva temples are generally face east direction, but this temple faces South direction.


This temple was built in 9th century.


One of the sacred books of Tamil Saiva Siddhanta, Manikkavasagar’s Tiruvacakam originated from this Shrine.
