Sri Vijayaraghava Perumal Temple Timings – Thiruputkuzhi

 

Sri Vijayaraghava Peruma temple is located in Thiruputkuzhi Village in Kanchipuram district in the state of Tamilnadu. This temple is situated near the Vegavati river.

Sri Vijayaraghava perumal is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He blesses the devotees with Jatayu on his lap.

Goddess Maragathavalli Thayar is the  consort of Lord Vishnu.

It is counted as one among 108 divyadesam temples.

This temple has 5 tier Rajagopuram.

Lord Rama performed the last rites for Jatayu, the eagle who fought with ravan to rescue sita from him.

The Sanctum Sanctorum of this temple is called as Vijaya Koti Vimanam.

The Koneru is named as Jatayu Pushkarini.

This temple was built in 13th century.

The Brahmotsavam festival in the month of Masi (feb-mar), Teppotsavam in Thai(jan-feb) are the major festivals celebrated here.

Devotees pray for Child boon. This is also one of the holy places to offer Tarpan to ancestors.
