Sri Krishna Janmashtami
- Janmashtami, also known as Sri Krishna Janmashtami is the birth celebration of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu.
- Lord Krishna was born at midnight on Ashtami tithi under Rohini Nakshatra.
- In the north it is celebrated in Bhadrapada Masam, whereas in south India it is celebrated in Shravana month.
- He was eight sons of Vasudev and Yashoda.
- According to mythology, Krishna was the eighth child of Princess Devaki and her husband Vasudeva.
