Sri Jagannath Temple – Nayagarh

 

Sri Jagannath Temple is located at Nayagarh of Odisha State.

The main deity of this temple is Lord Jagannath, who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu is facing in East direction along with Balabhadra and Subhadra.

The temple is in pancharatha Rekha Deula style, while the Jaga mohan and Natamandapa are in Pidha Deula style.

The idol of Jagannath called DadhiVanana was brought from the temple at Tikiripada and installed here.

The idols from this temple were installed there. The entire temple was built with white-marbles sandstones along with yellow and red stones in the entrance.

This temple was built in 1788 A.D and reconstructed in 1808 A.D

Snana Yatra and Ratha Yatra are the festivals celebrated here.
