Kumara Kottam Subramanya Temple is located in Sowcarpet in George Town area of Chennai, in the state of Tamilnadu.
Murugan is uniquely
depicted as Brahma – Shasta, holding a kamandalu and beads of Rudraksha. He has
two arms and is found in the standing Posture.
This is one of the
India’s seven moksha-puris or sacred cities where salvation may be obtained.
It is said to form a
cluster with Ekambareswarar temple and the Kamakshi Amman temple but each
temple has its own liturgical identity.
This temple was built 1000
years ago.

September to March.
Traditional dress is
allowed for darshan.
