Sri Tiruvirkolanadhar Temple Timings - Korukkambedu
Sri Tiruvirkolanadhar temple is located at Korukkambedu village in Tiruvallur district in the State of Tamilnadu.
Thiruvirkolanathar is an incarnation of Lord Shiva.
There is an injury scar on the head of Shiva lingam. Here Lord Shiva is
Swayambhu.
Sri Tripurasundari is the consort of Lord Shiva. Sri
Chakra is installed in the Shrine.
The unique feature of this temple is that lord Shiva’s
procession idol can be seen holding a bow and arrow in his hands. Such an idol
is very rare and cannot be seen anywhere else.
This temple has a 5 tier Rajagopuram and two Dwaja
stambhams.
The koneru here is named as Agni theertham.
This temple was built in 7th Century.
Devotees believe that worshipping mother would break
obstacles in the way of wedding proposals.
Devotees pray to Achirutha Vinayaka before starting
any new undertakings.
It is also believed that any sort of misunderstanding between
husband and wife can be resolved if they worship the lord here.
Every day Poojas are performed four times and the
archakars perform these poojas only after taking bath in the temple tank.
