Sri Saranarayana Perumal Temple Timings - Thiruvathigai

 

Sri Saranarayana Perumal temple is located at Thiruvathigai, in Cuddalore district in the state of Tamilnadu.

Sri Saranaryana Perumal is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Here Lord Narasimha is seen in a Sleeping Position. It is believed that Lord Narasimha came here tired after a battle with Vakrasuran and killing him and is said to have taken rest. Here he is seen in a Sayana kolam.

Goddess Sridevi is the consort of Lord Narasimha.

The important feature of this temple is where lord Narasimha in a reclining pose with Goddess sitting at his feet.

This temple has a 5 tier Rajagopuram. The temple holy tank called as Garuda theertham.

This temple was built 1000 years ago and renovated recently.

4^th Chapter of Brahmananda Purana mentions this temple

Arjuna is said to have visited this temple at the end of Mahabharata War.

Traditional dress is allowed for darshan.
