Sri Trichambaram Krishna Temple Timings - Taliparamba
Trichambaram Krishna
Temple is located in Taliparamba in Kannur district in the state of Kerala.
Here Lord Krishna idol is
sitting in Raudra Posture.
The famous Saint Sambaran
has done meditation in this temple and thus the name ‘Trichambaram’ came to
this temple.
This temple was built in
Kerala style of architecture.
There is holy teerth in
the temple and hence no one is allowed to take bath in it. The water level
remains same during the rainy season nor the summer season.
At night it looks enchanting
with the oil lamps lit around the temple reflected in its water.
This temple was built in
10th century and renovated in 15th and 16th centuries.
This temple is equal to
world famous Guruvayur temple and is also called as North Guruvayur temple.
There is also a shrine
dedicated to Goddess Durga which is in the middle of the tank. This shrine is
one among the 108 Durgalayas of ancient kerala.
There are Shrines for
Shiva, Ganapathi, Sastha, Vishvaksena near the temple complex.
The annual festival is
celebrated during Kumbham month of Malayalam Calendar.
