Karthika Somavar, Mondays in Karthika Masam

 

Mondays are Considered auspicious to worship Lord Shiva. In Karthika Masam it is Mondays are very special to Lord Shiva according to Skanda Purana.

On this devotees must observe fast for the whole day to please Lord Shiva. Devotees must perform Rudrabhishekam to Lord Shiva on Mondays in this month. If not possible in home must visit temples and perform this abhishekam.

Deepadanam is considered highly auspicious in this month, if it is on Monday it will give good results.

Things to do

Wake up early in the morning

If possible take a bath in river

Visit Lord Shiva Temples

Perform Rudrabhishekam

Offer Bilwa leaves

Must do charity for needy

Break the fast after Chandra darshan and have dinner.
