Unable To Visit A Temple Daily Or Do Puja?

The good news is that there is a way to get the benefits equalling the visit to a temple or a shrine, even if you are unable to visit it.

According to shastras, the dome of a temple is considered as significant as the temple itself. You would often notice a flag placed on the dome's peak. It represents the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. So, whenever you are travelling, and see a temple from a distance, all you can do is to look at its dome/flag, close your eyes for a second and remember your ishta dev.

The shastras mention: Shikar darshanam paap nasham ie, the mere sight of a temple's dome can destroy your many sins.

That's why the dome of a temple is constructed high, so that it is visible from far, and devotees who are unable to visit a place of worship can still pay their respects, just by looking at it.

Another thing mentioned in our shastras is the power of donation. Accordingly, you should give away 1/16 of your income in charity if you want to have a blessed life.
For example, if you earn 100 rupees, 1/16 of 100 is 6.25. You should donate around 6 rupees from your 100 bucks in charity on regular basis.

In Hindu religion, it is therefore not mandatory to visit a temple for praying. If you heart has devotion, love and compassion, you can literally pray anywhere. God resides withing you afterall.
