Attuvela Mahotsavam

 

• It is celebrated at Elamkavu Bhagavathy temple located at Vadayar in Kottayam
• It is a welcome ceremony for the goddess of Kodungalloor, who comes to visit her sister, the goddess of Elamkavu.
• It is observed in the Malayam month Meenam
• It is a water festival with beautifully illuminated canoes, carrying a huge replica of the temple, the water accomplished by hordes of colorfully decorated small canoes.
• The canoes procession starts from Attuvela Kadavu 2 km from Temple
