Kalpathi Ratholsavam

Kalpathi  Ratholsavam (Kalpathi Chariot Festival) is an annual Hindu temple festival in the Kalpathi village of Palakkad district in Kerala state, south India.

This is believed to be over 700 years old. The Chariot Festival is celebrated every year in November. Over the years the festival celebrations have gained immense popularity in the state of Kerala.

The celebrations at the festival include Vedic recitals and cultural programs for the first four days; through the last three days, Chariots for the Lord are decorated by devotees. Devotees from all across India gather here during the Festival. 

The festival is conducted over 10 days, usually in November. During this time, 5 rathas of the 5 deities of Kalpathy village come together and circumvent the village in a grand procession. This is known as 'devarathasamgamam'.
