Important rituals to be done during Dhanurmasam

 

• During this auspicious month, Lord Vishnu is believed to listen to Tiruppavai.
• In Tirumala, Tiruppavai is read in place of Suprabatham during this month.
• It is said that one day of dhanuramasa pooja is equivalent to 1000 years of daily pooja.

Rituals to be done

• Must wake up early in the morning 
• Take a bath at home or river
• Commence puja and worship during Brahmamuhurtham.
• Offer flowers to god and surrender to him completely.
• Decorate the house with rangoli.
• Visit Lord Vishnu temples during this month and offer prasad to god
• Chant slokas like Tiruppavai, Thiruvempavai, Vishnu Sahasranamam, Lalitha Sahasranamam, Purusha Sooktham, Sri Narayana Sooktham.
• Offer Pongal and Puliogare as prasad to Lord
• Ladies can perform Margali Nomu and Katyayini Vrat.
