Sree Siddhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple – Kelzar



Sree Siddhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple is located at Kelzar Village in Wardha Tehsil in the state of Maharastra.

Lord Siddhi Vinayak is this temple's primary deity. The Lord Ganesh idol in Kelzar is huge, measuring 1.40 meters by 4.6 feet in height and 4.40 meters by 14 feet in diameter.

 The fort had five bastians and three vast fortifications constructed out of soil and stones. There is a big and beautiful rectangular well near temple, ‘Kushawarti Vihir’ known as Ganesh Kund.

 This place was known as “Ekchakra Nagar” as per Vashistha Puran and Mahabharata. In the Vashistha Puran, it is mentioned that Sage Vashishtha, Lord Rama’s Guru had inhabited here and that for his religious cores, this temple was foundedThe river Wardha is said to have been formed at that time. The river Wardha was called Varad, and this Lord Ganpati was known as "Varad Vinayak," according to the scripture. The sage Vaishishtha is supposed to have left this sacred spot after the birth of Lord Rama during the ancient period that existed before the birth of Lord Rama.

 One of the prominent Ashtavinayakas in Vidarbha, this temple was renovated in the year 1993. Just before Mahashivratri in 1994, a Shivaling was discovered on the site when excavation was taking place. At this temple, there is also a stunning 8th-century idol of Chandraprabhu Swami, the 8th incarnation of the Jain sect's spiritual leader. The Mahalakshmi and Jyotirling idols at this location are thought to be about 2,500 years old.
