developed this historic place, they were carrying the varadaraja Swamy idol from
Vishnu Kanchi (Kanchipuram, T.N) to their native Raygadh. at that, they were
resting for the night, in dreams lord Vardaraja Swamy told them to build a temple there only but he thought this place was not suitable hence Vardaraja Swamy was their
homeidol, and he wanted it their own place (Raygadh). The next morning their
journey started but the axle of their cart was broken it took a whole day to repair, once again lord appeared in dreams, He informed all the villagers and his followers but all of them refused to build a temple there, they started the journey again the same scene was repeated hence he decided to build a temple here itself.
He went to Nawab of Medak
for permission for the temple and land for it. He gave permission will the land to
temple how many acres he could run with a burning coal bowl on his head, he ranned nearly 1400 acres. Temple construction was carried out for 10
years for every Vyshaka pournami yatra conducted similar to Vishnu Kanchi
