Koti Somavaram

 

• Koti Somavaram is observed on Shravana Nakshatra in Karthika month before Purnima.
• Koti means one crore and Somavaram means Monday, It is equivalent to one crore Mondays.
• Must perform Abhishekam to Lord Shiva.
• Lighting ghee lamps and doing rudrabhishekam is considered auspicious.
• It is believed that by observing this day, one will be free from all sins. It can lead to Mokhsa.
• Observing fast on this day is equal to fasting on all Mondays in Karthika Masam.
