Sammakka Saralamma Jatara 2024 Dates || Medaram Jatara
Sammakka Saralamma Jatara or Medaram Jatara is a tribal festival honoring the goddesses celebrated in the state of
Telangana. It is also called Telangana Kumba Mela. It is
one of the largest fairs in the world.
Many tribal Devotees from different states of India (A.P, M.P,
Chattisgarh, Orissa, Maharastra, Karnataka, and parts of Jharkhand)reach the
festive place to celebrate the Jatara.
Devotees believe in Goddesses Sammakka, and Sarakka fulfills their desires
with their divine and miraculous powers. Issueless Couples visit to pray to the
goddesses to bless them with children while young girls pray for good life
partners. Devotees pay their promises made to the goddess during the Jatra, by
offering Jaggery, calves, coconuts, and donations in cash, etc. Pilgrims take bath
in the Jampanna stream to get purified and absolve from sins.

Jaggery

Last day of Sammkka Sarakka Jathara. Goddess

and Saralamma will return back into the forest.
