Srisailam Temple Timings




Srisailam temple is one among 12  Jyothirlinga's.  It is situated in Nallamala forest, Atmakur Taluk, Kurnool district of Andhrapradesh state. Srisailam is an ancient punyakshetra in India. It is a popular pilgrimage centre in South India, and famous since from lakh's of years. In this holy shrine the god shiva is called as Sri “Mallikarjuna swamy” believed to be a “Swayambu linga” (self emanated linga) of the god shiva.


Lord Mallikrjuna in the form of linga protected by three-hooded cobra. Here Goddess Parvati is known as Bhramarambika devi.


It is situated in the bank of the river Krishna.


It is one among the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams. The uniqueness lies in the amalgamation of Jyotirlinga and Mahasakthi Peeta in one campus, which is one of its kind.


Sati devi’s neck had fallen here and the temple is also one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peethas.
