Covid Alert : Must Know Guidelines/Rules Before Visiting a Temple.
Major Temples in India
are ready for darshan after 80 days. Here are the some Key Points to be known
before Planning for Darshan.
These People are not
allowed for Darshan
- Person above the age of 65 years
- Children below the age of 10 years
- Pregnant women
- Persons with comorbidity (Patients).
Things to do (For Devotees) :
- Maintain distance: Individuals must maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet in public places as far as feasible
- Face masks: Use of face covers or masks will be mandatory
- Wash hands frequently with soap, even when they are not visibly dirty
- Use alcohol-based hand sanitizers
- Respiratory etiquette: Cover your mouth and nose while coughing and sneezing with a tissue/handkerchief/flexed elbow. Dispose off used tissues properly.
- Individuals are advised to use Aarogya Setu App
- Bring your own prayer mat, if possible.
Things not to do (For Devotees) :
- Spitting is strictly prohibited
- Touching of idols, holy books will be prohibited
- Entrance without face masks will be forbidden
- In case an individual has fever, they may not be allowed to enter the premises
- Avoid physical greetings
- Do not take prasad
Dos for Temple
Authorities :
- It is mandatory for all religious institutions to station hand sanitizer and thermal screeners at the entrance
- Only asymptomatic persons should be allowed in the premises.
- Only those who have face masks/covers must be allowed to enter the premises
- Staggering of visitors to be done, if possible.
- Footwear must be taken off inside own vehicle. If needed they should be kept in separate slots for each individual / family by the persons themselves.
- Institutions must ensure separate entry and exits for visitors
- Ensure social distancing
- Room temperature setting of all air conditioning devices should be in the range of 24-30 degree C, relative humidity should be in the range of 40-70%, intake of fresh air should be as much as possible and cross ventilation should be adequate.
- Use, as far as feasible, recorded devotional music during the service
- Community kitchens/langars/“Ann-daan”, etc. at religious places should follow physical distancing norms while preparing and distributing food.
- Frequent cleaning and disinfection must be maintained.
Don’ts for Temple Authorities :
- Touching of idols, holy books will be prohibited
- Large gatherings/congregation prohibited
- Avoid physical greetings
- Do not give prasad
- Avoid choir, group singing
- Avoid common prayer mats
- No sprinkling of holy water inside religious place.
