Mahakaleswara Sahita Veerabhadra Swamy is the deity of this temple and is the husband of Sri Ujjaini Mahakali Matha.

This idol is covered and fixed with vendi kavacham(silver shield). By the side of Sri Ujjain Mahakali is the goddess of Manikyaladevi.

Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Temple was constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture and the Garbhalaya Dwaram is covered by ornamental Silver Sheets.

Holy water from a well located within the temple complex is utilized as an offering during religious ceremonies and special occasions.

Hindu epic stories have been carved on the temple's tower and walls, and there are god and goddess idols here made of unique wood and stones.

It is said that this location used to be occupied by trees, insects, rocks, and lakes in earlier times. A large well existed, and when making repairs by digging, an idol called "Manikyalamma" was discovered. The identical idol can still be found in the temple's sanctum, on Ujjaini Mahankali's right. Sri Suriti Appaiah constructed this temple in 1813 AD. Over time, it underwent renovations to become a grand structure, and in 1864, the wooden goddess deity was replaced with a black stone figure.

This temple is popular during the festival of Bonalu, lakhs of people visit this temple during ashada jatara.
