Sri Chamundeshwari Devi Temple – Chitkul
Sri Chamundeshwari Devi Temple is located at Chitkul Village near
Jogipet in Medak district of Telangana State.
The primary goddess of
this temple is Chamundeswari Devi, who is an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi.
Here
Deity is in standing position which is unique.
This Temple has a 7 tier
Rajagopuram, Pillared Mandapa is situated inside the Grabha Gudi.
Unlike other temples,
Chamundeshwari Devi idol was first installed and then the construction of the
temple was started.
The idols of Brahmi Devi,
Kaali Devi and Vaishnavi Devi are also installed in the temple along with
Goddess Chamundeshwari Devi.
Devotees get their
desires fulfilled by worshipping the goddess in different ways. Taking bath
overhead and directly circumambulating, without wiping the body and without
changing the dress, the temple eleven to more number of times according to
one’s capacity or tying a coconut in a cloth and offering it as mudupu are some
methods to get the desires fulfilled.

the year 1983.
