Sree Kolavizhi Amman Temple Timings – Mylapore

Sree Kolavizhi Amman temple is located in Mylapore,Chennai city in the state of Tamilnadu.


Kolavizhi amman is an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi and is armed with weapons in her hands to kill the fear and evil.


The Thali(mangal sutra) which amman wearing here is really big in size.


Main Sanctum has the amman in a small ugra roopam and towering above her is the shanta Swaroopa. All abhishekams are for Ugra roopam and the shanta swaroopam gets only oil coating.


This temple is 1000 years old.


Pournami Pooja is the most important festival held in the temple.


Goddess will remove hurdles like legal cases, protects from any danger like natural disasters.

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti.   The March 2025 quota of Arjita Seva tickets will be released on December 18 at 10am by TTD online which includes Arjita Sevas viz. Suprabhatam, Tomala, Archana, Astadalam. The devotees shall register for these sevas from December 18-20 and those who got the tickets shall have to pay from December 20 onwards and before the 12noon of December 22. Meanwhile, the Arjita Sevas like Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjita Brahmotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva tickets will be released at 10am on December 21 while the virtual sevas and gheir darshan slots on the same day at 3pm.
