Mahalaya Amavasya : What to do ?

The last day of Pitru Paksha is known as Mahalaya Amavasya or Sarva Pitru Amavasya.

It the date of death of any family member is not known then shraddha can be performed on this day.

Things to do

After taking early in the morning must wear clean clothes.

Pindadan is to be done with respect to the departed soul.

With devotion and respect the pinda are offered to ancestors.

Lord Shiva is worshipped

Food is to be offered for Crow

Brahmins are to be served with food and dakshina.

Donating today is considered highly rewarding.
