Arattupuzha Pooram 2022

 

• This is the oldest festival celebrated in Kerala
• It is celebrated at Sree Sastha Temple in Thrissur
• It is known as mother of all Poorams
• It represents a variety of traditions in Kerala
• Elephants with mahouts can be seen walking through the streets while the beats of drums and other instruments dictate the pace of the crowd.
• Many of the folk art performances can be seen
• Almost more than 20 deities from different temples in Thrissur are bought here and worshipped
• The final Ceremony involves the immersion of statutes in river is an extremely solemn occasion, and the event ends.
