There are Various theerthams associated with the temple

Shakti theertham

The Peruvala Vaikkal, a branch rivulet of River Cauvery, is the primary Teertham and is referred to as the principal Sakthi Teertham at Samayapuram. The channel flows adjacent to the temple complex. The Adi Pooram Teerthavari and the Adi 18 Teerthavari rituals are performed here.

Mahamayi Theertham

To the northwest of the temple and just off the Tiruchi-Chennai National Highway is situated the Mahamayi Teertham. The construction of the sacred tank is ascribed to the later Vijayanagar and Nayak periods. A small mandapam is found in the center of the tank, which is fed by the Peruvala Vaikkal and has provisions for draining excess water. Thai Poosam and Chitrai Float festivals are celebrated with pomp in this sacred tank.

Sarveswara Theertham

The Sarveswara Teertham at Samayapuram is situated to the northwest of the shrine, near the temple staff residential quarters. Legend has it that, the Saptha Kanniyar (Seven sacred maidens) used to propitiate Ganga Matha at the Teertham and Sri Samayapuram Amman Temple 20 Sri Samayapuram Amman Temple 21 then take a pot of the sacred water to Mahamaham tank at Kumbakonam ahead of the Mahamaham.

Jatayu Theertham

Another sacred water spot is the Jatayu Teertham located near the Sri Mukteeswarar temple in Samayapuram village. The sacred tank is related to the Ramayana epic and folklore has it that Lord Rama undertook the funeral rites of Jatayu with the help of water from the sacred fountain.

Ganga Theertham

Steeped in history is the Ganga Teertham found near the Sri Ujjaini Om Kaliamman temple and is associated with the legend of King Vikramaditya. Water from this tank is said to rid the bather of the bad effects of the curse and black magic.
