Sri Asthalakshmi temple is located in Besant Nagar in Chennai city in the state of Tamilnadu.

She is an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi.

The temple is located near the Sea.

The temple was designed and constructed in the shape of ‘AUM’.

The roaring waves of the Bay of Bengal reverberate the Pranava sound and remind one that the god and goddess reside in the Pranava sound.

The shadow of the tower does not fall on the earth.

Goddess Lakshmi is the deity who grants eightfold achievements and eightfold wealth.

As both Maha Vishnu and Mahalakshmi reside in the temple it is known as the Asthalaskhmi Temple.

This temple was built in the year 1976.
