Sri Murugan Temple is located at Thiruparankundram in Madurai district of Tamilnadu State. It is regarded as one of the Six abodes of Lord Murugan. Magh Mela is an auspicious annual Hindu Ritual held in the month of Magh. It is also called mini Kumbh Mela. It is celebrated in the month of Magh as per the Hindu calendar, which falls during January or February. The Magh Mela is, however, not confined only to the month of Magh, and the important bathing dates are spread over 45 days. It is believed that taking a holy dip at the Sangam on the auspicious days during the period will wash away the sins and will lead to Moksha.
