Mandala Puja at Sabarimala



Mandala Puja is an important ritual observed in Sabarimala Temple.

The day of Mandala Puja marks the end of 41 days long austerity observed by devotees of Lord Ayyappa.

Mandala Puja and Makar Vilakku are the two major events held in Sabarimala temple.

It begins on the 1st day of Malayalam month Vrishchikam and ends on the 11thday of Malayalam month Dhanu.

During these days  Sabarimala temple is opened for darshan.

Most devotees from various parts of the world visit Sabarimala during these days.

Mandala Puja is mentioned in Various Puranas.

By performing mandala puja the person’s destiny can be changed positively and all his desires are fulfilled.

Women below 10 and above 50 are allowed to do this. They are called Malikapuram.

There is a tradition that devotees who visit Sabarimala also have a darshan from Lord Krishna at Guruvayur.

The rules of vrat must be followed strictly.
