Sri Bhagandeshwara Swamy Temple - Bhagamandla
The Bhagamandala village in Coorg, Karnataka
State, is home to the 898-meter-high Sri Bhagandeshwara Temple.
Lord Shiva manifests as Sri Bhagandeshwara Swami.
The premises have Lord Subramanya and Lord Ganesha placed.
This place is also known as Bhagandeshwara Kshetra, from which the name
Bhagamandala is derived.
The temples in this region were constructed in the West Coast Karavali
style.
Pilgrims gather in this location in significant numbers during Tula
Sankramana, which takes place on October 17 or 18.
A resident sage named Bhaganda successfully completed Shanmukha's
penance. This is Subramanya's village, also known as Skanda Kshetra. This was
gifted to Bhaganda Maharshi by Subramanya. Skanda Kshetra's distinguishing
feature is the tapobhoomi of the saints and the settlement of God. Shivalinga
is installed by Bhaganda Sage, who also gives the area the name Bhaganda
Kshetra and becomes Bhagandeshwara the local deity. The river Kaveri is
known as Parama Pavana when it reaches Bhagamandala and unites with
the Kanaka and Sujjyothi tributaries. This area is known as Thriveni Sangama.
It is stated that spiritual enlightenment will be obtained very quickly thanks
to this's enhancement of siddhi and tapa siddhi. The belief will be supported
by the experiences of countless saints and Sadhus.
