Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple – Sudi

Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple is located in Sudi a Panchayat in Gadag district of
Karnataka State.

It is a Trikuta Temple where
three shrines share a common mandapa (hall). This common closed mandapa is
supported on four pillars. A makara torana is setup in front of the main
garbhagrha (sanctum), which is dedicated to Shiva. A small Nandi is placed
between the torana and the sanctum. The torana has Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu on
its lintel. Similar toranas are set up in front of other shrines however all are not
left uncarved. The shrine on the north has Uma-Maheshvar while the shrine on the south has
Vishnu as Anantashayana. Ashta Dikpala and all ten incarnations can be seen on
the Prabhavali around Vishnu. The mandapa and eastern shrine are connected with
an Antarala (Vestibule) or Sukhnasi.
