Sri Venkatachalapathy Swamy Temple – Krishnapuram

 

Sri Venkatachalapathy Swamy Temple is located at Krishnapuram Village in Tirunelveli district of Tamilnadu State.


Venkatachalapathy is this temple's main deity, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The sanctum houses the image of Venkatachalapathy in standing posture 4 ft (1.2 m) and is made of granite sporting four arms. Two of his arms hold the conch and Chakra, while the other two sport Abayamudra and Kadahasta.

 

Venkatachalapathi Temple has 5 tiered Rajagopuram the temple's gateway tower is 110 ft. (34 m) tall. Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture, the temple occupies an area of 1.8 acres and is surrounded by a granite wall. The temple is a storehouse of Nayak architecture and has a Teppakulam. 

 

The statue of Venkatachalapathy in a standing position with four arms is kept in the sanctum. His four arms are adorned with the Abayamudra and Kadahasta, while two of them are holding the Sankhu and Chakra. For the goddesses Sridevi and Bhudevi, there are separate sannadhis in the prakaram. There are a lot of halls in the temple namely the Pandal Mandap, Vahana Mandap, Ranga Mandap, and Jeeyar Mandap.

 

The two biggest festivals celebrated in the temple with great fanfare are the 11-day Brahmotsavam in Purattasi (September–October) and Vaikunda Ekadasi (December–January).

Sri Raghavendra Swami Aradhana 2024 Dates

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti.   The March 2025 quota of Arjita Seva tickets will be released on December 18 at 10am by TTD online which includes Arjita Sevas viz. Suprabhatam, Tomala, Archana, Astadalam. The devotees shall register for these sevas from December 18-20 and those who got the tickets shall have to pay from December 20 onwards and before the 12noon of December 22. Meanwhile, the Arjita Sevas like Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjita Brahmotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva tickets will be released at 10am on December 21 while the virtual sevas and gheir darshan slots on the same day at 3pm.   Pushya Masam is the tenth month as per the lunar calendar. In this month farmers get their crop hence it is called Soubhagya Laksmi Masam. Dhanurmas or Dhanur Masa is also known by the names Chapa Mas, Kodanda Mas, Karmuka Mas, etc. Dhanurmasa is also called Shoonya Masa because it is considered inauspicious to do any good things other than Godly and holy functions. Mandala Puja at Sabarimala

Mandala Puja is an important ritual observed in Sabarimala Temple. The day of Mandala Puja marks the end of 41 days long austerity observed by devotees of Lord Ayyappa. Mandala Puja and Makar Vilakku are the two major events held in Sabarimala temple. It begins on the 1 st day of Malayalam month Vrishchikam and ends on the 11 th day of Malayalam month Dhanu. Vaikunta Ekadasi 2025: Special Pujas at Srinivasa Mangapuram Temple

  Special pujas will be observed in Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram on January 10 and 11, respectively, in connection with Vaikuntha Ekadasi and Dwadasi. After Dhanurmasa Kainkaryams, Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam will be given to devotees from 3:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on January 10.
