Sri Kapileshwar Mahadev Mandir – Balod
Sri Kapileshwar Mahadev Mandir is located in Balod town
in the state of Chhattisgarh.
Kaplileshwar Mahadev is an incarnation of Lord Shiva.
Temple group has six
temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Goddess Durga, Lord Ganesha, Lord Krishna,
Goddess Santoshi, and Ram Janaki. These temples are built in the Peeda Deval
style.
Kapileshwar Temple
dedicated to Lord Shankar is the biggest temple situated in these, due to which
the group of these temples is called Kapileshwar Temple Group. This is an east-facing temple and the 6 feet statues of Lord Ganesha are installed on both
sides of the temple.
The idols of Ganga Yamuna
and the gatekeeper are installed on the right and left side of the door branch
of the temple. The temple of Santoshi Mata is the smallest of all these
temples. The peak of this temple is also made in the shape of pain Deval.
