Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple – Puducherry

Street of Puducherry.
Goddess Kamakshi Amman is an incarnation of Goddess
Parvati
The temple is famed for
its magnificent construction which is a fine exemplar of Tamil architectural
design.
Besides, the interior of
the temple gets decorated during a special event or festival.
However, the gopuram at
the entrance of the temple includes various decorative reliefs. Inside the
temple, there present the idols of the deities that are believed to be old than
the temple. Also, the pillars and the carved pillars add extra beauty to the
temple attraction.

be 500 years ago.
Chaitra Purnima(brahmotsavams),
Adipooram, Karthiga Somvar, Aadi Amavasya, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Maasi Magam,
Thai Poosam, Pang and Navratri are the festivals celebrated here.
