  • Masa Shivaratri is a vrat dedicated to Lord Shiva.
  • Observed Chaturdashi tithi every month during Krishna Paksha.
  • Very Powerful and auspicious vrat.
  • Although mentioned in all Puranas, Skanda Purana explains this vrat.
  • In Magha month this day is Celebrated as Maha Shivaratri.
  • The observer of this vrat has the power to get conquer Tamas Guna and Rajas Guna.
  • While meditating on lord shiva on this day the devotee can control Emotions.
  • If a devotee observes this vrat perfectly, then it is equal to and more powerful than performing Aswamedayaga.
  • The devotee can be set free from the repeated cycle of Birth and Death.

Things To Do :

  • Take a bath early morning before sunrise, Must wear Rudraksha and apply Vibuthi on the forehead.
  • Must visit Lord Shiva Temples.
  • Some Devotees observe fast.
  • Must chant ‘Om Namah Shivaya’.
  • After the Puja is Completed/Fast is broken Prasadam must be distributed.

Sri Azhagiya Singar Perumal Temple Timings – Kanchipuram

  Sri Azhagiya Singar Perumal Temple is located in Kanchipuram in the State of Tamilnadu. The presiding deity is Mukunda Nayakan who is incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He is seated in a Yoga Position.   The once-in-a-year event, the procession of Sri Ugra Srinivasa Murty in Tirumala on the auspicious occasion of Kaisika Dwadasi will take place on November 13. About the unique idol: Among the Pancha Beras(five types of idols), Ugra Srinivasa Murty is considered the Snapana Beram.  The idol of Sri Ugra Srinivasa Murthy was also known as Venkatatturaivar and stands for the anger aspect of the Lord.
