Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple – Polur

 

Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is at the top of  Sampathgiri hills in Polur of Tiruvannamalai district of Tamilnadu State.


Lord Narasimha Swamy is the presiding deity of this temple, who is Swayambhu here


Goddess Kanagavalli Thayar is the consort of Lord Vishnu


It is one of the 108 Abimana Kshetram of Lord Vishnu


Sampathgiri in Sanskrit means Mountain of Wealth.


In the Hill, there are two distinct water streams. There are two: Brahma Theertham at the top of the hill and Pulasthiyar Theertham at the bottom. At the foot of the hill sits the Anjaneyar shrine, and it takes 840 steps to go to the hill temple.


Two great Rishis Performed severe penance on this hill towards Lord Narasimha. Lord was pleased and gave 1 mango to both of them. Both the Rishis fought for the mango and Pulasthriya Rishi cut Kolasthriya Rishi's hands. Even after this incident, Kolasthriya Rishi continued his worship for 1 Mandalam (48 Days). After this incident, Lord Narasimha Appeared Swayambu on the mountain and Showed his divine Grace towards the Rishi. He also retrieved his hands and told him to install the Utsava murthi on the Foot of the hill.

Sri Raghavendra Swami Aradhana 2024 Dates

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti. Dhanurmas or Dhanur Masa is also known by the names Chapa Mas, Kodanda Mas, Karmuka Mas, etc. Dhanurmasa is also called Shoonya Masa because it is considered inauspicious to do any good things other than Godly and holy functions. Tirumala: March 2025 Quota Details

  The March 2025 quota of Arjita Seva tickets will be released on December 18 at 10am by TTD online which includes Arjita Sevas viz. Suprabhatam, Tomala, Archana, Astadalam. The devotees shall register for these sevas from December 18-20 and those who got the tickets shall have to pay from December 20 onwards and before the 12noon of December 22. Meanwhile, the Arjita Sevas like Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjita Brahmotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva tickets will be released at 10am on December 21 while the virtual sevas and gheir darshan slots on the same day at 3pm. TTD will release the  the Anga Pradakshinam tokens at 10am, SRIVANI tickets at 11am, Physically challenged and senior citizens at 3pm on December 23.   Pushya Masam is the tenth month as per the lunar calendar. In this month farmers get their crop hence it is called Soubhagya Laksmi Masam. The sun would transit in the northern direction and from then onward the Uttarayana Punyakalam starts. Uttarayana starts with the most famous festival Sankranti.
