Sri Kodi Kuzhagar Temple – Kodikkarai

 

Sri Kodi Kuzhagar Temple is located in the town of Kodikkarai in Nagapatnam district of Tamilnadu.

Here Lord Shiva is worshipped as Amudha Kadeswarar and Goddess Parvati as Anjanakshi

It is one of the Paadal Petra Sthalam

This temple has a 5 tier Rajagopuram

Lord Shiva faces east and the lingam is made of granite.

Lord Ganesha, Murugan, Nandi, and Navagraha are there on the premises.

Navagrahas are on a straight line in this temple

The sea route to Lanka is short from this place.  Sugriva planned to build a bridge from here to Lanka to help Rama to cross the sea.  But Lord Sri Rama disagreed with the proposal as Kodiakadu is behind Lanka and that would not be right or graceful to attack Ravana from behind and proceeded to Dhanushkodi being opposite to the front entrance of the island.  He worshipped Lord Shiva here before proceeding to Lanka.  Remembering this event, the foot prints of Rama is carved here.  Lord Shiva in the temple is also praised as Amirtha Kadeswarar.

The two main festivals observed in the temple are the six-day Sashti and the ten-day Vaikasi visagam, which take place during the Tamil month of Vaikasi (May–June).

Sri Raghavendra Swami Aradhana 2024 Dates

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti. Tirumala: March 2025 Quota Details

  The March 2025 quota of Arjita Seva tickets will be released on December 18 at 10am by TTD online which includes Arjita Sevas viz. Suprabhatam, Tomala, Archana, Astadalam. The devotees shall register for these sevas from December 18-20 and those who got the tickets shall have to pay from December 20 onwards and before the 12noon of December 22. Meanwhile, the Arjita Sevas like Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjita Brahmotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva tickets will be released at 10am on December 21 while the virtual sevas and gheir darshan slots on the same day at 3pm. TTD will release the  the Anga Pradakshinam tokens at 10am, SRIVANI tickets at 11am, Physically challenged and senior citizens at 3pm on December 23. Dhanurmas or Dhanur Masa is also known by the names Chapa Mas, Kodanda Mas, Karmuka Mas, etc. Dhanurmasa is also called Shoonya Masa because it is considered inauspicious to do any good things other than Godly and holy functions. In 2024  Dhanurmasam starts on  December 16 and ends on January 13, 2025. This period ends with the Makar Sankranti - the end of dakshinayana mostly occurs during the Pausha month of the Hindu Lunar calendar.   Pushya Masam is the tenth month as per the lunar calendar. In this month farmers get their crop hence it is called Soubhagya Laksmi Masam. The sun would transit in the northern direction and from then onward the Uttarayana Punyakalam starts. Uttarayana starts with the most famous festival Sankranti.
