Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple – Shivanasamudra

Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple is located in Shivanasamudra in Kollegala taluk in Chamarajanagara district of Karnataka.

This temple was built in Dravidian style of architecture

This temple is called as Madya Ranga

The idol is 8 feet long and 5 feet high he is resting on the bed of Naga sesha.

He is called as Jaganmohana Ranganatha Swamy

This temple has a 7 tier Rajagopuram, Big corridor, Dwajastambha and Deepa Stambha.

This temple was built 1600 years ago.

God Indra, after killing Vrithasura with his vajrayudha stained with blood in Kaveri water. It divided the river into seven parts and started flowing before each resh. thus the lord has fulfilled the desire of these Rishis (sages) ' desire, which is termed Saptha Rishi Kshethra.

Sri Raghavendra Swami Aradhana 2024 Dates

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti. After serving the world and the lord for a lifetime, Sri Raghavendra Swami attained Jeeva Samadhi in the year 1671. It happened on the Dwitiya of Krishna Paksha of the Shravana month.   Skanda Sasthi is dedicated to Lord Murugan or Subramanya Swamy. It is the sixth day of every lunar fortnight in the Hindu Calendar.
