Sree Guruvayoorappan temple timings - Guruvayur


Sri Guruvayur temple is an Ancient hindu religious temple of lord Sri Krishna located in the temple town Guruvayur in Kerala. It is also referred as “Bhuloka Vaikunta”. 


Lord Sree Guruvayurappan is main deity of this temple, who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Here deity is self manifested.


Lord Sri Krishna is four-armed and standing with the Conch Panchajanya, the discus Sudarshana Chakra, the mace Kaumodaki and a lotus with holy basil garland.


On Vishu day, the rays of sun directly fall at the feet of Lord Vishnu.


This temple was built in 17th century and renovated in 19th century.


Devotees are believed that here the god having the power to ruins the long term diseases.


Best Time : September to February.


Traditional Dress is allowed for Darshan.



The temple is open for devotees from 3 AM to 12.30 PM and from 4.30 PM to 9.15 PM.

6.00pm to 6.45pm – Deeparadhana

7.30pm to 7.45pm - Athazha pooja Nivedyam

7.45pm to 8.15pm - Athazha Pooja

8.45pm to 9.00pm - Athazha seeveli

9.00pm to 9.15pm - Thrippuka, Olavayana

9.15pm - The Sreekovil will be closed. On the day of Special Illuminations called "Vilakku" the Thripuka is performed after that. The Sreekovil will be closed after Thripuka. Then the Krishnanattam, a colourful traditional dance-drama on Lord Krishna's life is enacted inside the Temple on specified days.
