Sri Margabandeeswarar Swamy temple timings - Virinjipuram


Sri Margabandeeswarar Swamy temple is located at Virinjipuram village, near Vellore city in the state of Tamilnadu. This temple was built in 13th century by Cholas and renovations were done by Vijayanagara kings in 19th and 20th Century.



Margabandeeswarar swamy is the main deity. He is an incarnation of lord shiva. Here swamy is swayambu (Self – manifested). Goddess Maragadhambikai is consort of lord shiva.

  • 1008 small lingams are enshrined in a single Maha Lingam

Sri Raghavendra Swami Aradhana 2024 Dates

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti.
