Nanganallur Anjaneyar Temple - Chennai
Anjaneyar temple is located at Nanganallur, Chennai in the state of Tamilnadu. The main deity of Nanganallur Anjaneyar temple is Sri Viswaroopa Anjaneyar or Vyadhihara Bhaktha Anjaneyar. The deity is 32 feet tall.
This temple has 3 tier Rajagopuram.
The idol of Hanuman was
installed in the year 1989 and consecrated in 1995.
The main shrine houses
Anjaneya Swamy inside a Temple Tower 90 feet tall. Anjaneya Swamy is facing
west, and thus the main entrance is on the west.
A complete Sanidhi with Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana,
and Hanuman present is located on the northwest corner. Here, Rama is symbolic
of his dual roles as ruler and protector; thus, the name "Kodanda
Rama." Rama is also seen carrying his bow. With Rukmini and Satyabhama
facing east, there is a Sannidhi of Lord Krishna located in the southwest.
In the northeast part of the temple, on a small platform, "Vinayaka" is housed facing east, and to his left on another platform 'Naga' has been installed. Saint Raghavendra has taken his abode facing Lord Krishna.
