Sri Jalakandeswarar Swamy Temple Timings - Vellore

 Jalakandeswarar temple is located in Vellore in the state of Tamilnadu. Lord Shiva is the presiding deity of this temple. Goddess Akhilandeswari is consort of Lord  Shiva.


Athri muni installed shiva lingam here. Lord Jalakandeswarar was installed in a place  surrounded by  water .


This temple was a seven tiered Rajagopuram.This temple was built in 12th Century.


Devotees facing some troubles caused  by lizards falling on them worship the golden and silver lizards in the temple.


Those who have fear from accidents, marriage delays will perform abhishekam to lord and offer vastras to Goddess.


There is an lamp on the balipeeta behind the Adhikara Nandi. Some people place their hands on Nandhi which would revolve if their wish will come true. But it dosen’t revolve in all cases.

Sri Raghavendra Swami Aradhana 2024 Dates

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti.
