Sri Madhava Perumal Temple is located at Mylapore in Chennai City in the state of Tamilnadu.
Madhava Perumal is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The
lord is in sitting posture is called Paramapadanathan holding the Sudarshana,
Panchajanya and Gadhayutha in his three hands with the fourth one in Abhaya
Hasta Pose.
Goddess Amrithavalli is the consort of Lord Madhava
Perumal.
The temple is one of the most prominent among the non
divya desam temples.
The temple is believed to be the birth place of
Peyaalwar, one of the three of the twelve alwar saints of 6th to 9th
Century.
This temple has 5 tier Rajagopuram built in Dravidian style
of architecture. This temple has a koneru named as Santhana Pushkarini.
