Sri Ravishwarar Temple Timings - Vyasarpadi, Chennai


The Ravishwarar temple is located in Northern Chennai and is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

This temple has 3 tier Raja Gopuram. This temple was built 500 years old.


The sun rays fall on the deity through the hole on Shiva linga as the Sun god performs the first puja to Lord Shiva.


On Sundays special poojas are performed to both Lord Shiva and Sun on Sundays, the first day of Dakshinayana and Uttarayana Punya kala Days and on Makara Sankranthi and Ratha Saptami.

Sri Raghavendra Swami Aradhana 2024 Dates

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti.
