The Ravishwarar temple is
located in Northern Chennai and is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Raja Gopuram. This temple was built 500 years old.
The sun rays fall on the
deity through the hole on Shiva linga as the Sun god performs the first puja to
Lord Shiva.
On Sundays special poojas
are performed to both Lord Shiva and Sun on Sundays, the first day of
Dakshinayana and Uttarayana Punya kala Days and on Makara Sankranthi and Ratha
Saptami.
