Sri Gundicha Devi Temple Timings - Puri
Sri Gundicha Devi temple is located in the temple town
of Puri in the state of Odhisa.
Gundicha devi is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati.
During Ratha Yatra Lord Jagannatha, Lord Baladeva and
Subhadra devi leave the mandir for nine days, one day for travelling to
Gundicha temple stay there for seven days and one day to return. This is known
as Gundicha yatra, Nava dina yatra or Gosha Yatra.
This temple is built in Kalinga style of architecture.
Gundicha devi is the aunt of Lord Jagannath he comes
to visit with family every year in three chariots and stay here for a week.
This temple was built in 16th Century.
Except for the nine day Ratha yatra, the temple remains
empty for rest of the year.
