Five Murthies of Tirumala



In Tirumala Sevas are performed to Lord Venkateswara in five forms. They are also called as Pancha Berams.

1.    Moola Murthy (main deity)

2.    Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy

3.    Koluvu Srinivasa Murthy

4.    Sri Malayappa Swamy

5.    Ugra Srinivasa Murthy

 

Moola Murthy

  • He is the main deity in the temple
  • Devotees throng Tirumala in lakhs, in long queues for getting all their wishes granted.
  • He is supreme god of Kaliyuga.


Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy

  • This idol is presented by Pallava queen in 614 AD
  • Ekanta seva is performed to this deity, after that temple is closed.
  • Next day morning the deity is placed under the main deity after completing the ablutions.


Koluvu Srinivasa Murthy

  • Panchanga Sravanam, temple income and expenditure details are presented to him daily.


Sri Malayappa Swamy

  • He enjoys all sevas of Tirumala
  • Utsavams like Kalyana utsavam, Unjal Utsavam, Vasantha Utsavam and other utsavams
  • All Arjita Sevas, daily, weekly, monthly and annual sevas are perfomed.
  • During Brahmotsavams rides on different Vahana sevas.


Ugra Srinivasa Murthy

  • This murthy along with his consorts come out of the temple only on the occasion of Kaisika Dwadasi.
  • On this day he leaves the sanctum sanctorum before dawn in a procession around mada streets at about 4.30 am
