Sri Agneeswarar Swamy Temple Timings – Tirukattupalli

 

Sri Agneeswarar Swamy Temple is located at Tirukattupalli in Thanjavur district in the state of Tamilnadu.


Sri Agneeswarar is an incarnation of Lord Shiva and he is swayambhu here.


Goddess Soundarya nayaki and Azhagammai are the consorts of Agneeswarar


This temple is the 126th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 9th Sthalam on the north side of the river Cauvery of Tamilnadu.


This temple was built in Dravidian style of architecture and has a 5 tier Rajagopuram.


There is a koneru named as Surya theertham, Agni Theertham.


Devotees pray for removal of obstacles in marriage talks, excellence in education and prosperity.


This temple was built in 7th Century.


Sri Yoga Dakshina Murthy, Lord Vinayaka Lord Murugan along with consorts are found in the temple premises.

Sri Raghavendra Swami was born as the second son of Gopikamba and Thimanna Bhatta in the year 1595. The great saint who was hailed as the incarnation of Prahalada, the great bhakta of Lord Maha Vishnu, was born in the Mrighashirsha Nakshatra at Buvanagiri which is in the present day Tamilnadu. Born as Venkatanatha and fondly called Venkata Ramana, Sri Raghavendra Swami was the epitome of piety and bhakti.
