ISKCON Temple - Mumbai
ISKCON Temple, Mumbai, also known as Sri Radha Rasabihari ji Temple,
is a Hindu temple located in Mumbai's Juhu district, 21 kilometers from Mumbai
Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. It is often referred to as the Hare Rama Hare
Krishna Temple and is regarded as one of the top tourist attractions in Mumbai.
The ISKCON Temple, which is devoted to Lord
Krishna and occupies a space of around 4 acres, is close to the spectacular Juhu
Beach. One of the top attractions to visit in Mumbai is the ISKCON Temple. This
temple was built in 1978 as part of the Hare Krishna Movement, which was
started by Bhakti Vedanta Swami Prabhupada and aims to spread Krishna
consciousness.
Sri Radha Rasabihari ji is the presiding deity of
the temple. Sri Gaura-Nitai and Sri Sita Rama Laxman Hanuman are other deities
worshipped here. The ISKCON Temple is very large and has a guest home,
publishing house, and restaurant serving Vaishnavite cuisine. The ISKCON
Temple's stunning architecture is worth seeing. Its walls are decorated with
paintings and sculptures on both the interior and exterior. There are paintings
depicting events from Lord Krishna's life in the main prayer hall. Due to its
purity, this stunning marble temple receives a tonne of tourists and believers
from all around the nation every year.
The best time to visit the ISKCON Temple is during Krishnastami, which
falls in August or September. Millions of devotees from all over
the world visit the temple during Krishnastami.
