Sree Achleshwar Mandir – Gwalior

 

Sree Achleshwar Mandir is located in Gwalior city of Madhya Pradesh state.

Lord Achleshwar Mahadev is an incarnation of Lord Shiva.

This temple was built in the North Indian style of architecture

Mahadev appeared to the saint Devraj Maharaj, who lived here, and revealed that this Shivling had fallen among the bushes. After this Shivling was consecrated. 

The Shivling in the Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple is around 350 years old. According to a narrative, when the road was being built during the rule of the Scindia State, he attempted to remove Shivpindi from the path but was unable to do so due to the Shivling. As a result, Achalnath's power earned widespread fame.
